Building Confidence through Dance
Our Team
Amy Cauthen
Studio Owner | Co-Founder | Teacher
Amy is studio owner, co-founder and teacher at ConfiDance. She started dance when she was a little girl and her first teacher inspired a love for dance in her that she hopes to spread to the little ones she teachers. Amy danced all through High School as well as cheerleading, running track, playing the flute and the piano.

She attended NKU as a Business Major but could not keep her feet from dancing so she took a few dance classes every semester on top of a full academic course load. While in college she continued cheerleading as a Norse cheerleader and performed in all the shows at NKU that involved dance including their summer dinner theaters.
By the time she graduated from college, she had both a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Dance minor. After graduating she attended Chase College of Law. Yes believe it or not Ms. Amy has a Juris Doctorate degree! She never practiced law because she moved to England when she married her husband and when they came back to Kentucky she chose to be a stay at home Mom until her three daughters started to dancing. Since she lived on a farm about a half and hour from dance and was always waiting in the lobby, she decided to put her dance experience to good use and started teaching. She taught for 14 years until her youngest daughter could drive herself to dance. She has a gift for teaching the little ones and also loves teaching acrobatics as well.
She is so excited to be back on the dance floor, starting this new adventure with her oldest daughter, Katelyn, sharing their love of dance.

Katelyn Cauthen is the studio director, co-founder and teacher at ConfiDance. She started dancing at the age of three at Expressions Dance Theatre in Northern Kentucky, where she trained in many styles of dance including, ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and acrobatics. She trained upwards of twenty hours a week and competed at numerous competitions across the US. In 2009, Katelyn attended Governor’s School for the Arts, a Kentucky funded arts program which reaffirmed her dedication to making dance her career.
After graduating from Notre Dame Academy in 2011, she continued her dance education at the University of Surrey in Guildford, England studying Dance and Culture for and year before transferring to Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated in 2015 with a BA in Dance and a minor in Business. Since graduating she has continued to work on herself as a dancer, teacher and choreographer and always strives to keep growing in her art form.
She has been a guest teacher at a couple studios in the area and most recently started the tap and jazz program for a ballet school in Louisville where she taught for two years before deciding to start ConfiDance. Katelyn always thought that she would be a performer herself, but after gaining some experience as a teacher she discovered her true love and talent was teaching. She found sharing her love for dance with her students was so much more rewarding to her than she ever thought possible. As a teacher, she strives to give every student individual attention tailored to their needs and build confidence and skill through quality dance training. She is so excited that her dream of running studio based on the importance of building confidence in every student through dance is finally a reality.
